We invite you to join the IOU Education Distance Learning Initiative for the Incarcerated.  This is an effort to bring Islamic Education to a population that needs it most.  IOU has embarked on a journey to provide it’s Diploma and Undergraduate course of Islamic and Arabic studies, and other course offerings to the incarcerated Muslim population across the country, and around the world where requested.  Efforts are underway in several state and federal correctional facilities to provide authentic Islamic Education through this initiative, to Muslim inmates in an effort to aid their rehabilitation process and to assist in preparing them for a successful and productive life after prison.

"Changing the Nation through Education"

The Initiative is currently operating in more than 100 federal and state facilities nation-wide.  Each month, the program welcomes between 50 – 100 new inmate enrollees into the Initiative, Alhamdulillah.

Since the beginning of the IOU Distance Learning Prison Initiative, we have witnessed continued expansion of the program to reach more than half of the nation (27 states) and the common-wealth of Puerto Rico.  After starting with 500 inmates in 2014, the program has increased its’ enrollment to more than 1800 inmates enrolled in Level 1 and Level 2 of the Diploma Program.  The Initiative is currently operating in more than 100 federal and state facilities nation-wide.  Each month, the program welcomes between 50 – 100 new inmate enrollees into the Initiative, Alhamdulillah.
